Gym Owner Indicted for Fraud

<< Back to News

A gym owner in Nashua, NH, was recently indicted for fraud by a superior court.

According to the court documents, the man is guilty on two accounts of violating the Consumer Protection Act and one account of credit card fraud.

All three violations reportedly occurred within a seven month period and members of his gym were targeted.

Man Stands Accused

Sean Corriveau, 38, is being accused of committing a deceptive act because he got into two contracts with potential members and accepted fees from the customers before the gym opened.

Corriveau reportedly failed to put the money from those contracts into the escrow account.

He is also being accused of violating state law by failing to post a $50,000 bond with New Hampshire’s attorney general before accepting fees for the gym.

Not the First Time

Corriveau has reportedly also been accused of felony fraud since he charged $14,000 to another man’s credit card.

The man was allegedly a former member of the Powerhouse Gym, the facility that Corriveau owned.
