A former teaching assistant at a University in Georgia was recently accused and charged for several cases of credit card theft.
The woman has been accused of theft dating as far back as December 2006.
She finally turned herself into the Athens-Clarke County Jail earlier this morning.
Woman Accused
Jennifer Nicole Kane was charged with 10 misdemeanor counts of theft, four felony counts of possession of a fake ID, six counts of felony financial transaction card fraud and one count of felony financial transaction card theft.
Her bond was set for $5,000 for the felony financial transaction card theft and the bond amount has been undetermined for the other charges held against her.
University Police Report
Reports show that the first of seven incidents were reported to police in April, while the seventh was reported only last week.
According to reports, the following forms of fraud have been reported to the University Police in associated with Kane since December:
· Stolen credit cared and license from a purse at the athletic center
· Stolen driver’s license and two credit cards from Park Hill
· Stolen license, credit card and check card from Rankin Smith building
· Stolen debit card and credit card from Joe Brown Hall
· Stolen bookbag with two credit cards and a driver’s license from the journalism building
All of the credit card owners claim that unauthorized purchases were made by Kane on their stolen credit cards and check cards.
